Desperate searching
Since my condition was getting worse more and more, and since noises still bothered me even when wearing ear protection, my family began desperately to look for a specialist who could know about hyperacusis and tinnitus.
A text with the description of my case (hyperacusis by acoustic trauma) was printed, in order to take it to those doctors who did not want to see me at home.
Otorhinolaryngologists, neurologists, general practitioners, acupuncturists, reflexologists, healers, etc. were consulted. Their diagnosis, opinions and attitudes were so diverse, and some of these were very surprising:
- “your problem is in the Eustachian Tubes”
- “he has a excessive stress”
- “he has a severe depression”
- “to tell you the truth, I don’t know how to treat your problem”
- “I have never heard about it”
- “he should visit a psychiatrist”
- “you have fright”
- “it is only an inflammation”
The total disinformation was in evidence, in many cases, when the specialists didn’t show a minimum sign of sensitivity with my problem, making noises or raising their voice while I was in their presence, even having described my severe condition to them.
Besides, none of them had heard about the retraining therapy developed by Dr. Pawel Jastreboff, and some even ventured to reduce all credit to it.
On the following post I will describe some of the treatments that were performed, by suggestion of people consulted.
