An unexpected recovery

Photobucket

In 2004 I got a scholarship to study korean language and culture in Seoul (South Korea) for four months.

When I left my country I was using earplugs, but when I returned I had already stopped wearing them.

What it had happened was that Seoul, a smaller city than Lima but with more population and vehicles, had very low environmental noise. It was so quiet in comparison that seemed to be a ghost city for me.

After the first two months of living there, I began to perceive that my hyperacusis and tinnitus had decreased.

At the end of the fourth month, I had stopped using ear protection and my tinnitus had practically disappeared.
